Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 11, 2026
Meeting Alerter is a MacOS menu bar application that helps you keep track of calendar meetings and join video calls quickly. This policy describes what data the app accesses and how it is handled.
The short version: we collect nothing. No analytics, no crash reports, no usage data, no advertising. Your calendar data never leaves your device or your own authorized calendar services.
Calendar Data
Meeting Alerter reads your calendar events to display them in the menu bar and to send you alerts before meetings begin. This access is:
- Read-only — the app never creates, modifies, or deletes calendar events.
- Local for Apple Calendar — events are fetched directly from MacOS via EventKit and never leave your device.
- Direct for Google Calendar — events are fetched from Google's servers using your own OAuth credentials. The app communicates directly with Google; we have no server in between and never receive your calendar data.
Google Calendar Authentication
When you connect a Google account, Meeting Alerter uses OAuth 2.0 to request read access to your Google Calendar. The resulting OAuth tokens are stored in the MacOS Keychain on your device only — they are never transmitted to, or stored on, any server we operate.
You can revoke access at any time from your Google Account permissions page or by removing the account inside Meeting Alerter's Settings.
No Analytics or Telemetry
Meeting Alerter contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting library, and no telemetry of any kind. We do not know how many people use the app, how often it is opened, or which features are used. We have intentionally kept the app free of third-party tracking.
In-App Purchases
The Pro upgrade is sold exclusively through the Mac App Store. All payment processing is handled by Apple. We receive no payment information, billing details, or purchase history — only a confirmation from StoreKit that a purchase has been made on your device.
No Third-Party SDKs That Track Users
The app uses two third-party libraries for Google Calendar integration only (Google Sign-In and the Google API Objective-C client). Neither library is used for tracking, advertising, or analytics purposes. All communication is strictly between your device and Google's own servers, using your own credentials.
Future Features
If we add features that access additional data — for example, Google Contacts for attendee lookup — we will update this policy before releasing those features. Continued use of the updated app constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Children's Privacy
Meeting Alerter is a productivity tool for professionals. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
